About

Villa La Pena is a spacious and secluded yoga retreat venue in Spain for up to 9 participants with extensive grounds, a yoga studio and indoor & outdoor swimming pools. It sits in an elevated position in the La Pena area of Tarifa, nestled between mountain and sea with an absolutely stunning panoramic view. It faces the Straits of Gibraltar, looking out east across to Morocco’s Rif Mountains and west to the Port of Tangiers.

The venue is a 10 minute drive or an hour-long walk along the beach to Tarifa Town. Tarifa town is a uniquely cosmopolitan and historically and geographically significant as Mainland Europe’s southern most point, where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic. The old town is very beautiful with lovely restaurants, shops and plenty of sight-seeing opportunities.

On a typical day we’ll practise yoga every morning before brunch and every evening before dinner. Yoga sessions will include: asana, pranayama, relaxation and meditation interwoven with philosophical themes and mindfulness. Posture work will be more dynamic in the mornings and more relaxing in the afternoons. Wednesday will be a yoga free day to give those who’re interested adequate time for a day trip to Tangiers. Onsite massage can be arranged at your convenience.


Food

The vegetarian meals prepared by our in-house chefs are an absolute highlight! All dishes served are healthy, delicious and bursting with colour and flavour. As we’re near the sea, fish dishes can also be incorporated. Typically, we’ll have brunch at 10am and dinner at 7pm. Fruit, nuts, cheese, humous, crackers etc. will be available for self service in the afternoons. Teas/coffee will be available for self service at any time and soft drinks and alcohol can be purchased in Euros from the ‘honesty shop’.

08.30 - Energising yoga & meditation

10.00 - Brunch (fruit, overnight oats, fresh juice, eggs, toast, spreads, coffee/tea)

11.00 - Free time (massage, swimming, walking, Traifa Town, beach etc.)

3.00 - Snacks (cheese, humus, fruit, nuts, crackers)

5.30 - Calming yoga & meditation

7.00 - Dinner (main course & pudding - vegetarian with optional fish dishes)

All activities are optional!

There are a whole host of things to do in Tarifa, including adventure sports such as windsurfing, kite surfing, stand up paddle (SUP), mountain biking, rock climbing, horse riding and hiking along rugged sandy beaches, gentle mountains or beach side promenades. Day trips to Tangiers, the Baelo Claudia Roman ruins and whale watching can be also be organised. There are 3 great beachside cafés and restaurants within walking distance plus numerous cafes, restaurants and shops in Tarifa town.

Nearest airports are Gibraltar (50 min transfer time) and Malaga (1 hour and 50 min transfer time).


Prices

Prices include: all yoga sessions, brunch, dinner, snacks, teas/coffee. Optional guided walks. Group airport transfers on selected flights only. Exclusive use of property, all yoga equipment, indoor and outdoor pools, towels for indoor and outdoor use. Bathrooms are equipped with hair dryers, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.

Shared occupancy (twin beds): £1,250 pp + flights

Single occupancy: £1,650 pp + flights

Deposit of £200 to book. Balance paid 60 days prior to departure.

Cancellation policy: If you are unable to attend a retreat you’ve booked, any monies paid will be refunded up 3 months prior to departure (minus £25 admin fee). After this time, I will do my best to fill your space (this usually isn’t a problem), if I’m unable to fill the space, I will not be able to issue a refund.
